Petcom
Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 July 2026
Petcom ("we") is a pet identity and community registry for India. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can delete it.
Information we collect
- Account: email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google account email and name.
- Pet profiles:pet name, breed, colour, gender, approximate age, photos, optional medical notes, and the emergency contact phone number you choose to publish on the pet's tag.
- Location:the locality/city you type when adding a pet or filing a report, and — only if you grant permission — your device's approximate location to sort nearby vets. We never store continuous or background location.
- Found-dog reports:a photo, description, the finder's contact detail, and the found location. These can be filed without an account.
- Usage & device data: basic analytics events and device/browser info via PostHog and Vercel Analytics.
How we use it
To run your pet's ID card and QR tag, power the scan-to-reunite emergency page, send lost/found and care-reminder notifications, operate the optional vet-clinic and community-dog features, and improve the product. The AI pet assistant sends your question and the selected pet's profile to our AI provider to generate cautious, non-medical guidance; it does not diagnose or prescribe.
Who we share it with (processors)
- Supabase — database, authentication, photo storage.
- Vercel — hosting and Vercel Analytics.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Resend — transactional email (alerts, reminders).
- OpenAI — powers the AI pet assistant.
- Google Maps Platform — maps and locality lookup.
We do not sell your personal data. We never show a pet owner's name, email, or home address on any public page — the public emergency page exposes only the pet's details and the emergency phone you chose to publish.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app, or by requesting deletion at petcom.in/legal/delete-account. Deletion removes your profile, pets, photos, and reports; it cannot be undone.
Children
Petcom is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
